The couple have gone Instagram official, but the response hasn't been particularly pleasant...

The most elusive celebrity couple of the moment have finally gone Insta-offish! About time and all that.
We’re, of course, referring to The Weeknd and Selena Gomez, who have kept the public on their toes throughout their four-month romance.
The pair – who have only been spotted out in public a handful of times – have also kept pretty quiet on social media, only making a few references to each other.
For example, this cryptic post…

But they’ve now have taken a massive step, with The Weeknd taking to his Instagram to share his first snap of himself and Selena.
Left captionless, the 27-year-old let the romantic image do all the talking. And it’s already racked up an incredible 1m likes.

Yup, turns out a picture really does speak a thousand words… how cute are these two?!
Plenty of fans have replied with sweet thoughts, with messages including: ‘You’re sooooo cute,’ and: ‘Love you both together.’
But while we’re loving seeing Selena and The Weeknd – real name Abel Tesfaye – looking so smitten, others have made some unnecessary comments. *Sigh*.
Unfairly, some referred to Selena’s ex Justin Bieber, urging her to get back with the Canadian singer while slamming her current romance.

Like, c’mon, can’t a girl live?
Selena, 24, has been open about her experiences with online trolls in the past.
In a recent interview for The New York Times, she admitted that she often un-downloads the Instagram app from her phone in order to get a break from the negativity.
We think it’s rubbish that she may have had to do this again. But we’re so glad she’s found a way to deal with the nastiness.
So anyway, guys… should we buy a hat?!
