Cara and Nathan are officially expecting their first child, despite their split...

Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey are expecting their first child.
It’s fair to say that the news was unexpected, primarily because of the fact that they called time on their romance back in April. But we think that baby news is always a wonderful thing, and it certainly seems as though the parents-to-be are going to work hard to support one another.

Of course, the excitement that surrounded Love Island continues to linger on, and fans still seem to be heavily invested in the couples that sprung from the ITVBe reality show.
When the news was announced today, just a few weeks after former islanders Cally and Luis became the first from the show to have a baby, the internet reacted accordingly.

Cara soon took to Instagram to make the official announcement, captioning a photograph of her growing baby bump: ‘So glad that I can finally announce to you all that I’m going to be a Mummy thankyou for everyone’s kind words and support ❤️’.
Her celebrity friends didn’t waste much time in breaking their silence, with TOWIE’s Mario Falcone and Lauren Pope leading the way with their congratulatory messages.
I've been holding it in for so long but finally can congratulate my two friends. @Miss_Delahoyde & @NathanMassey_ lots of love to you both ❤

Love Island‘s Olivia also shared a message for the former couple, tweeting: ‘I’ve been holding it in for so long but finally can congratulate my two friends. @Miss_Delahoyde & @NathanMassey_ lots of love to you both’.
One person who appears to have kept pretty quiet about the announcement is Nathan himself.
A fan was quick to point out that they were ‘seeing no congrats’ on his timeline, but the father-to-be has shared a series of messages of love and support from close pals Jon Clark and Tommy Mallet – which, to be fair, was probably referencing his happy news.
Love you buddy ❤️ https://t.co/br5S9hbuy2

In an interview with OK!, Cara said of her relationship with Nathan: ‘We’re still good friends.
‘He’s going to be there for the baby and I’m making him aware of all the midwife appointments and scans, so he’s in the loop and so’s his mum.’
We’re sending them both all of the luck and support. And, of course, congratulations on their exciting news.
