Ferne McCann made her return to the This Morning sofa today, speaking out for the first time about her pregnancy and the circumstances surrounding it.
The former star of The Only Way Is Essex hit headlines over the last few weeks when it was revealed that her then-boyfriend, Arthur Collins, had been arrested in connection with an acid attack in an East London club.
Confirming her pregnancy, Ferne issued a statement. At the same time, she distanced herself from Arthur and made it clear that she intended to be a single parent.

Now, the 26-year-old has spoken out about the whole situation. And it’s safe to say that, quite understandably, it was pretty emotional viewing.
Speaking to hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, Ferne said, ‘This isn’t how I imagined my first pregnancy to be…
‘But it’s not about me, it’s not about what’s happened. It’s about this baby. My main concern and priority is the baby.’
The topic soon turned to the publics’ reaction to her news, something that Ferne admitted was definitely ‘a concern’ for her.
She revealed: ‘I thought “are the public gonna judge me, are they going to have an opinion?”’
But it seems as though she soon discovered that this wasn’t a problem: ‘I didn’t need to worry, the public have been so amazing and supportive. That’s what’s got me through. Reading through the private messages on Instagram has been so touching and humbling.
‘That is what I’m so grateful for, everyone’s words, from single mothers, single fathers, people who have followed my career to people who have never seen me on TV.’

It seems as though Ferne is feeling positive about her future.
She said: ‘I can’t wait to meet my baby. The future for me, I’m not going to say it’s going to be easy but I just want to be the best possible mum I can be.’
