She’s never been one to follow the crowd and Cara has spoken out before about how she doesn’t like to conform to the normal standards of beauty.
In what seemed like a statement about individualism, but actually turned out to be for the role of a film, the model turned actress recently shaved all of her hair off.
Naturally, she manages to pull it off and still looks absolutely insane. After debuting her shaved head in the coolest way possible at the Met Gala – by painting it silver and covering it with diamonds, Cara went on to upload a series of photos of herself from the evening, a few of which she captioned with some things she clearly had on her mind.
One of the pictures has since been deleted but it was captioned: ’Its exhausting to be told what beauty should look like. I am tired of society defining beauty for us. Strip away the clothes, wipe off the makeup, cut off the hair. Remove all the material possessions. Who are we? How are we defining beauty? What do we see as beautiful?’
She then followed up her post with another Met Gala photo, captioning it: ‘The more we embrace who we are as people and rely less on our physical attributes, the more empowered we become. Beauty shouldn’t be so easily defined. It is limitless.’
We’ve always loved Cara for her originality and we stand by her with this one. If only we could all look as stunning with a shaved head, eh.
