Love Island fans were left a little heartbroken with the news that last year’s winning couple, Cara de la Hoyde and Nathan Massey, called it quits on their romance.
A few days after reports emerged, claiming that a string of ‘rows’ were behind their break-up, both former reality star contestants took to their social media accounts to confirm the news.

At the time, Cara tweeted: ‘Me & nath have split 
sometimes love just isn’t enough, but what will be will be ❤️ thankyou for everyone’s support lately 
’.
Nathan also shared an emotional message on Instagram, telling his fans: ‘The worst feeling in the world is when you know that you both love each other , but still you can’t be together ! Me and Cara have split, we’ve had the summer of our lives together , but sadly come to a end , I wish her the best for the future ’.

With the new series of the hit dating show, which saw the beginning of Nathan and Cara’s love story, just around the corner, it isn’t any wonder that there’s been speculation on whether one of the newly single TV personalities will be making an appearance.
It seems as though Cara has been quizzed on the idea – and she hasn’t ruled it out.

Nathan Massey and Cara de la Hoyde first got together on Love Island
The 25-year-old, who worked as a circus performer before finding fame on the show last year, reportedly told Reveal: ‘I spoke to the producers and said, ‘You may as well throw me back in there now!’.’
She has also described her time on Love Island as the ‘best summer of [her] life’, so it’s no wonder that she might be keen.
But, it also seems as though there might still be hope for a reconciliation. Both Cara and Nathan, who are currently appearing in TOWIE, have hinted that there’s still feelings there.
