Holly Willoughby called in sick to This Morning today
He announced the news just before going on air, telling viewers: ‘Holly’s not very well today so you’ve got about 15 minutes to work out who is going to be beside me at 10.30.’
When the programme began, all was revealed. It was Rylan Clark-Neal who’d taken over hosting duties – despite being in bed with hay fever just over an hour earlier.
Phil, 55, joked sarcastically: ‘Holly’s not well today so I’ve been given the most unlikely partner. I can’t wait for this. They said Rylan was coming in and I said I’d do it on my own.’

He also explained that Holly had texted him saying she’d, er, thrown up on the cat. Eeep.

But there was one person who wasn’t particularly happy about Rylan’s appointment.
Oh dear! @Ginofantastico is a bit miffed that @Rylan is filling in for @hollywills instead of him – we hope he'll still make us tiramisu

Gino D’Acampo was clearly miffed that he wasn’t asked to take part, appearing during the intro and complaining: ‘Why did you not ask me to do it? You knew that I was coming in this morning to cook.’
Pointing to Rylan, he said: ‘He’s been here five minutes on This Morning and he’s hosting the show. Thirteen years I’ve been here.’
However, Phil responded: ‘A) You haven’t even got a mic on and B) When are you ever, ever here on time?’

Phil then hoisted himself onto a pillow in a bid to become the same height as Rylan, 28 – which the ex-X Factor contestant called a booster seat – and began the show.
But not before adding: ‘Willoughby, this is all your fault.’
LOLz. Get well soon, Holly!
