The ex-Coronation Street actress had a tough time on the set of the BBC drama...

Tonight’s the night! In just a few short hours, Michelle Keegan will return to our screens in the new series of Our Girl.
If you’ve been keeping tabs on the actress’s Instagram page this year, you’ll know that she’s had a pretty gruelling filming schedule.
She spent months in both South Africa and Malaysia, telling Nick Grimshaw on Radio 1’s Breakfast Show today: ‘I wasn’t 100% sure there would be another series but I signed the option for there to be another.

‘Obviously the first time it was for five episodes but this time it was for 12 so it’s overly doubled. I didn’t know that at the time either.
‘It’s been a long, long filming schedule. I was away for three months last time and this time I was in South Africa for three months and then I had three weeks off then I was in Malaysia for three months.’
Not only that, but Mich, 30, ended up with a few injuries on set.
She continued: ‘We have done a lot of explosions and I’ve done the occasional stunt and I bruise like a peach so my body is bruised from head to toe.
‘There’s always a stunt and you can only do it once because it costs thousands. There was one with an explosion behind us and we had to get the timing perfect because the mats were buried under sand.
‘The pressure was horrible. Everyone was filming on phones so the pressure was on.’

But it seems it was all worth it. Mich has been away from her husband Mark Wright for most of the year, as he takes on a new challenge presenting entertainment show Extra in LA.
But he took to Instagram earlier today to share a cute selfie of them on the set of Our Girl together, writing: ‘Finally it’s here !! Tomo night on @bbc 9pm it’s the launch of OUR GIRL !! Cannot wait !! This little ones hard work will all seem worth while. So proud of you @michkeegan [sic].’
Aw. We can’t wait to tune in!
