It all stemmed from when Sam took to Twitter yesterday (23 September) to make a heartbreaking confession.
To his 156 thousand followers, Sam shared: ‘Today has been the worst day of my life as far as I can remember. I never knew exactly how much one person could effect my life.’
He continued: ‘The only way is has to be up. Can’t get much lower haha. And yes I’m fishing for some love….kinda need it ha’
Sam met Amelia Lily on Celebrity Big Brother
Many of his followers thought Sam was referring to his rumoured new girlfriend Amelia Lily, the singer known from her appearance on The X Factor who struck up a romance with Sam in the CBB house.
One follower responded: ‘Aww whats happened hope it nothing to do with u and Amelia if it is fight for her. Hope ya ok [sic]’ and another agreed: ‘Dont know whats going on but you have @AmeliaLilyOffic in your life and she is such a gorgeous Kind Woman , why cant you see that ?! [sic]’
However, one fan presumed the tweet was regarding Sam’s recent split from fellow MIC star and girlfriend of three years Tiffany Watson, replying: ‘What’s wrong sam !?!? You need tiff back in your life u lost a good woman [sic]’ to which Sam seemingly confirmed he was missing his ex-girlfriend, simply tweeting back: ‘I know’
Sam and Tiff were in a relationship for three years before splitting earlier this year
Looking as if he was confirming it further, Sam also hit back to a troll who slammed his ex-girlfriend.
When someone tweeted Tiff: ‘@Tiffany_W13 you complain about @SamThompsonUK for sleeping around but you are as big a h** as he is. What gives?’ Sam stepped in and defended his former girlfriend.

‘You don’t know a thing. She’s a f**king angel. It’s me whose the immature t**t. [sic]’ Sam responded.

Although Tiff has not commented on Sam’s emotional outburst, his big sis Louise took to Instagram to share a snap of herself and her little bro, with the caption: ‘Because blood is thicker than water….
